HOW THE LASER WORKS

How does laser vessel treatment work?

During the treatment, laser energy is directed precisely at the visible vessel. The light is absorbed by haemoglobin in the blood and then converted into heat.

Controlled heating causes coagulation of the vessel and its gradual closure. Immediately after treatment, the area may temporarily darken or become more visible, and then gradually fade over the following days and weeks.

Skin response and the number of treatments needed vary individually. They depend, among other factors, on the vessel’s diameter, depth and location, the treatment area and the skin’s individual response. That is why every treatment is preceded by an assessment and selection of settings.

What results can you expect?

HOW IT WORKS

The laser targets haemoglobin in the visible vessel, allowing the energy to be concentrated in the area of the vascular lesion.

Laser energy

The light beam is directed precisely at the visible vessel in the selected area of the skin.

Haemoglobin and heat

Haemoglobin absorbs the light energy, which is converted into heat within the vessel.

Gradual closure

Controlled heating causes coagulation of the vessel, which then gradually becomes less visible.

CANDELA GENTLEMAX PRO

Two wavelengths. One precise selection.

Candela GentleMax Pro combines a 755 nm Alexandrite laser with a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. During the assessment, we select the technology and treatment settings according to the type, location and characteristics of the vascular lesion and the skin phototype.

IMPORTANT

You do not need to choose the wavelength or treatment settings yourself. Technology selection is part of the assessment before treatment and depends on the lesion being evaluated and your skin.

WAVELENGTH SELECTION

755 or 1064 nm – which do we choose for vascular lesions?

Candela GentleMax Pro combines two wavelengths: 755 nm and 1064 nm. For vascular lesions, we do not choose them according to one fixed scheme — the appearance and location of the lesion, skin phototype and the area’s response during the assessment all matter.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHOOSE YOURSELF

We select the wavelength during the assessment

During the assessment, we evaluate the skin, the appearance and location of the lesion, and the skin phototype. Based on this, we select the wavelength and treatment settings for the individual case.

INDIVIDUAL APPROACH

Who is laser vessel treatment a good choice for?

Laser vessel treatment may be a good option when dilated vessels, spider veins or individual vascular lesions are visible on the face or body.

Suitability depends, among other factors, on the appearance and location of the lesion, its size and the current condition of the skin. That is why we assess the specific area before treatment and only then select the treatment approach and device settings.

We first assess the specific lesion — only then do we select the wavelength and Candela GentleMax Pro treatment settings.

SPIDER VEINS AND VISIBLE VESSELS

When visible vessels on the skin bother you

The treatment may be considered for visible small vessels and spider veins. A prior assessment of the specific lesion and its suitability for treatment is essential.

FACE AND LEGS

When vascular changes appear in different areas

Our price list includes, among others, the nose area, cheeks, the entire face and selected areas of the legs. We adapt the treatment approach to the location and characteristics of the visible vessels.

INDIVIDUAL SETTINGS

When precise treatment settings matter to you

The wavelength, energy and other settings are selected after assessing the skin and the specific lesion. We do not use one fixed protocol for all vascular lesions.

YOUR APPOINTMENT

What does laser vessel treatment look like step by step?

Every appointment begins with a consultation and assessment of the skin, the type of visible vessels and the treatment area. Based on this, the specialist selects the treatment approach and settings.

The procedure itself is only one stage of the entire process. Proper assessment, skin preparation and care of the treated area after the appointment are equally important.

We assess every lesion individually before selecting the settings and starting treatment.

Laser vessel treatment at EPIL STUDIO in Kraków with Candela GentleMax Pro
ASSESSMENT · TREATMENT SETTINGS

We begin with a consultation and assessment of the skin, the type of vascular lesions and the treatment area.

ASSESSMENT

Consultation and assessment of the skin and vessels

Before treatment begins, the specialist assesses the skin, the location, extent and characteristics of the visible vessels. Relevant information is also discussed to determine suitability for the treatment.

TREATMENT SETTINGS

Selection of wavelength and treatment settings

Based on the assessment, Candela GentleMax Pro settings are selected according to the skin, the type of vessels and the specific treatment area.

PREPARATION

Preparation of the treatment area

The skin and treatment area should be prepared according to the instructions provided before the appointment. Before starting, the specialist reassesses the skin and defines the treatment area.

TREATMENT

Precise treatment of visible vessels

The specialist applies laser pulses to the planned area using the previously selected settings. The light energy is absorbed by haemoglobin, and the vessel may gradually fade and close.

PO TREATMENTU

Skin care and next steps

After the treatment, you receive instructions on skin care and protecting the treated area. Temporary redness or a sensation of warmth may occur, and the need for another appointment is assessed individually based on the skin response and results.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

See how to properly prepare your skin for treatment

Skin preparation is important for proper assessment and the course of laser vessel treatment. We have collected the most important guidelines further down this page.

TREATMENT RESULTS

When do results appear and how many treatments are needed?

The response of visible vessels to treatment may vary depending on their type, location and individual skin characteristics. That is why we assess the results and any further treatment plan individually.

WHY DOES THE NUMBER OF TREATMENTS VARY?

Every vessel has a different diameter, depth and location

Visible vessels are not all the same. They differ in diameter, depth, colour and location, so they do not all respond to laser energy in the same way.

After treatment, we observe the response of the skin and the treated area. If another appointment is needed, its scope and timing are determined based on the result achieved and a further assessment.

The number of treatments required is not the same for everyone. The plan depends on the type of vascular lesions, the treatment area and the skin’s individual response.

We do not promise one fixed number of appointments. Any further treatments are planned individually.

TYPE OF LESION

Vessel diameter and depth

Small, superficial and deeper vessels may require different treatment approaches and individually selected treatment settings.

LOCATION

Face, legs and treatment area

The nose, cheeks, face and legs differ in skin structure and in the characteristics of visible vessels, so the treatment plan is adapted to the specific area.

SKIN RESPONSE

Individual response and next steps

After treatment, we assess the skin response and the result in the treated area. Based on this, we determine whether another appointment is needed and what the next steps should be.

SEE REAL RESULTS

Laser vessel treatment results before and after

In the next section, you can see real photos of results from treatments performed at EPIL STUDIO and compare how visible vessels look before and after treatment.

TREATMENT RESULTS

What results can you expect after laser vessel treatment?

The result of laser vessel treatment depends on the type, size and location of the vascular lesion, as well as the skin’s individual response. The visibility of a vessel may change gradually after treatment, so we assess the result individually during follow-up appointments.

RESULTS ARE ASSESSED INDIVIDUALLY

The appearance of vessels may change gradually

After treatment, the appearance of the treated vessel may change. The final result depends, among other factors, on the type of lesion, its diameter, location and the skin’s individual response.

Not all vessels respond in the same way, and not every lesion requires the same treatment plan. In some cases, the area needs to be reassessed during a follow-up appointment.

That is why we do not promise complete removal according to one fixed scheme. The treatment scope and next steps are determined after assessment and evaluation of the skin’s response.

Results are individual — before-and-after photos show example cases, not a guaranteed outcome for every person.

LESS VISIBLE VESSELS

Reduced visibility of vascular lesions

The aim of treatment is to reduce the visibility of selected vessels and spider veins in the area assessed as suitable for treatment.

PRECISE TREATMENT

Targeting selected vascular lesions

Treatment settings are selected according to the type, location and characteristics of the vessel to work as precisely as possible in the selected area.

INDIVIDUAL PLAN

Assessment after treatment

The need for another appointment depends on the skin response, the number of lesions and the result achieved in the treated area.

IMPORTANT

We do not compare resultsusing one fixed standard

The type and diameter of the vessel, its location, depth, treatment area and the skin’s individual response can all influence the course of treatment. Therefore, results and the number of appointments needed may vary.

TREATMENT COMFORT

Does laser vessel treatment hurt?

Sensations during laser vessel treatment vary from person to person. At the moment of the pulse, you may feel brief warmth, a slight stinging or a gentle prick. The intensity depends, among other factors, on the treatment area, the type of vascular lesion and the selected settings.

Sensations may differ when treating small facial vessels compared with vascular lesions on the legs or over a larger area. The characteristics of the visible vessel, the device settings and individual skin sensitivity also play a role.

Before treatment, the specialist assesses the skin and the vascular lesion, then adapts the treatment approach to the specific area. Candela GentleMax Pro uses the DCD cooling system, which supports skin comfort during the laser pulse.

How the treatment feels may vary even between individual vessels and different areas of the skin.

WHAT AFFECTS THE SENSATION?

Comfort depends on several factors

TREATMENT AREA

Different areas may feel different

The nose, cheeks, face and legs differ in skin sensitivity, so the intensity of the sensation does not have to be the same in every treatment area.

LESION AND SETTINGS

The characteristics of the visible vessel matter

The appearance, location and extent of the lesion influence the treatment approach, so the settings are selected individually after assessing the skin.

INDIVIDUAL SENSITIVITY

Everyone responds differently

Sensitivity to stimuli is individual, so the same pulse may be perceived differently by different people.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

How to prepare for laser vessel treatment?

Good skin preparation helps with the assessment of vascular lesions and the appropriate selection of treatment settings. Before your appointment, it is worth following a few simple guidelines.

GOOD PREPARATION MATTERS

Before treatment, take care of your skin

Before your appointment, the current condition of your skin is important. A recent tan, significant irritation or active skin changes in the treatment area may affect suitability and the way the treatment is performed.

Tell the specialist about any medications, supplements, skincare products and recently performed procedures in the same area. This information helps us assess the skin appropriately before treatment.

On the day of your appointment, the treatment area should be clean. If the treatment is on the face, it is best to arrive without makeup, self-tanner or heavy skincare products on the skin.

Do not stop taking medications or supplements on your own. During the assessment, tell us what you are currently using.

KEY GUIDELINES

A short checklist before your appointment

SUN EXPOSURE

Avoid a recent tan

Protect the treatment area from intense sun exposure and tell the specialist if the skin has recently been strongly exposed to UV radiation.

SKIN

Keep the treatment area calm

Report any irritation, active inflammation, skin damage or other recent changes in the area that is to be treated.

MEDICATIONS AND SUPPLEMENTS

Share current information

Tell the specialist about your medications, supplements and any current treatment. Do not change your treatment or dosage on your own before the appointment.

SKINCARE

Arrive with clean skin

On the day of treatment, do not apply self-tanner, makeup or heavy skincare products to the treatment area. Tell the specialist about any active skincare products during the assessment.

ASSESSMENT BEFORE TREATMENT

See what is worth mentioning before your appointment

Medications, your current health status, recent skin changes, tanning and recently performed procedures may be relevant to the assessment. In the next section, we have collected the key contraindications and situations that may require additional evaluation.

Check contraindications

TREATMENT SAFETY

Contraindications to laser vessel treatment

The safety of laser vessel treatment begins with a proper assessment. Before treatment, the specialist evaluates the condition of the skin, the type and location of visible vascular lesions, as well as relevant health and treatment information.

Not every situation means permanent exclusion from treatment. Sometimes it is enough to postpone the appointment, allow the skin to recover, or first consult the lesion with a doctor if its characteristics require additional evaluation.

That is why it is important to provide up-to-date information before every appointment, especially if your health status, medications, skin condition have changed, if you have a recent tan, or if other procedures have recently been performed in the same area.

IMPORTANT

Do not stop taking medications or prescribed treatment on your own before the procedure. During the assessment, tell the specialist about any medications, supplements and recent procedures performed in the treatment area.

WHAT DO WE CHECK BEFORE TREATMENT?

The assessment helps determine whether and when the treatment can be performed safely

SKIN CONDITION

Active skin changes and skin damage

An infection, active inflammation, significant irritation or broken skin in the treatment area may be a reason to postpone the appointment until the skin has healed.

TANNING AND UV

A recent tan requires reassessment of the skin

UV exposure and the current condition of the skin are assessed before treatment. A recent or intense tan may increase the risk of skin reactions and require rescheduling.

MEDICATIONS AND SUPPLEMENTS

Current treatment should be discussed before the procedure

Some medications and supplements may affect the skin’s response or tendency to bruise. During the assessment, tell us what you are currently taking and do not stop anything on your own.

TYPE OF LESION

Not every vascular lesion is automatically suitable for treatment

If the appearance, origin or characteristics of a lesion raise any doubts, a medical consultation may be needed before treatment. The assessment also helps determine whether the lesion is suitable for a cosmetic treatment.

HAVE QUESTIONS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT?

Do not assess contraindications on your own

If you take medications, have a recent tan, active skin changes or are unsure what a visible vessel or area of redness is, mention it during the assessment. If necessary, the specialist may suggest rescheduling the appointment or arranging a medical consultation first.

Ask before your appointment

AFTER TREATMENT

What should you do after laser vessel treatment?

After laser vessel treatment, the skin may temporarily feel more sensitive, appear red or feel warmer than usual. The reaction depends on the treatment area, the type of vascular lesion, the settings used and the skin’s individual response.

After treatment, it is worth limiting factors that may further irritate or intensely heat the skin, while keeping skincare as simple, gentle and consistent with the recommendations as possible.

Aftercare may vary depending on the treatment area and the skin’s response, so after every appointment the specialist provides recommendations tailored to the specific area.

The most important thing is to monitor the treated area and follow the recommendations provided after your appointment.

PIELĘGNACJA AFTER TREATMENT

A few simple guidelines after vascular laser treatment

GENTLE SKINCARE

Do not overburden freshly treated skin

Immediately after treatment, choose gentle skincare and avoid products that cause burning, intensive exfoliation or additional skin irritation.

HEAT AND FRICTION

Limit additional heat and irritation

If the skin remains sensitive, limit intense heat, strong friction and other factors that may increase irritation in the treated area.

UV PROTECTION

Protect the treated area from intense sun exposure

After treatment, protect the area treated with laser vessel treatment from intense sun exposure and use sun protection according to the specialist’s recommendations.

MONITOR YOUR SKIN

Pay attention to the skin’s response after treatment

Temporary redness, warmth or local sensitivity may occur. If the reaction is severe, unusual or causes concern, contact the clinic or a doctor.

AFTER EVERY TREATMENT

You will receive recommendations tailored to your skin

Aftercare following laser vessel treatment may depend on the area, the type of vascular lesion, the settings used and the skin’s individual response. If you have questions after your appointment, you can contact us to discuss your situation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Laser Vessel Treatment FAQ

We have collected answers to the questions that most often come up before laser vessel treatment on the face and body.

The final assessment and treatment settings are always selected individually — depending on the type, location and appearance of the lesion.

Does laser vessel treatment provide lasting results?

The aim of the treatment is to close the visible vessel targeted by the laser energy. The skin response and final result are individual. It is also important to remember that the tendency to develop new visible vessels may remain, so new vascular changes can appear in the future regardless of earlier treatment.

How many laser vessel treatment sessions are needed?

There is no single number of treatments that is right for everyone. The plan depends, among other factors, on the vessel’s size and depth, its location, the number of lesions and the skin’s response. In some cases, one appointment may be enough; in others, a series of treatments or reassessment after healing may be needed.

Does laser vessel treatment hurt?

Sensations are individual. During the laser pulse, you may feel brief warmth, stinging or a slight prick. The intensity depends on the treatment area, type of lesion, selected settings and individual sensitivity. Candela GentleMax Pro uses the DCD cooling system to support comfort during treatment.

Can visible vessels be treated on the face and legs?

Yes. The assessment may include both visible facial vessels and vascular lesions on the legs. The treatment scope and settings are selected separately for each area, taking into account the appearance of the lesion and the skin’s response. Not every lesion looks or behaves the same way, so we assess it first during the consultation.

How should you prepare for laser vessel treatment?

Before your appointment, the skin should not be recently tanned or actively irritated. Tell the specialist about any medications, supplements, your current health status and any recent procedures performed in the same area. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own before the appointment.

What can the skin look like after treatment?

Immediately after treatment, the skin may temporarily appear red, feel warmer or become more sensitive. The appearance of the treated vessel may also change over the following days. The response depends on the treatment area and settings, so you will receive individual aftercare recommendations after the procedure.

Can laser vessel treatment be performed in summer?

Whether the treatment can be performed depends mainly on recent UV exposure, tanning and the current condition of the skin. With a recent or intense tan, the appointment may need to be postponed. The final decision is made during the assessment, and sun protection is important after treatment.

Is every visible vessel suitable for laser treatment?

No. The characteristics of the lesion, its depth, diameter, location and the condition of the skin all matter. If a lesion is atypical or raises concerns, a medical consultation may be needed before treatment. Laser treatment does not replace medical diagnosis of lesions that require clinical evaluation.

What are the contraindications to laser vessel treatment?

Before treatment, we assess, among other things, the condition of the skin, recent tanning, medications and supplements, as well as relevant health information and recent procedures in the treatment area. Not every situation means permanent exclusion — sometimes it is enough to postpone the appointment or consult a doctor first.

How much does laser vessel treatment cost at EPIL STUDIO?

The price depends on the treatment area and the number and extent of the lesions. The current price list starts from 200 PLN for a single visible vessel, and the exact cost is determined according to the treatment scope. The consultation before the first appointment is free of charge, and the full list of prices is available in the EPIL STUDIO price list.
